Sandy Smales (JP Qual) - Civil Marriage Celebrant - Let me help you with your most special of days
Biography

Sandy Smales - civil marriage celebrantI consider myself a very privileged woman to be a part of these joyous life events.

So how did I get to this incredible point in my life? It’s been far from boring - that’s for sure!!

My teenage years were spent here on the Sunshine Coast, after growing up in Brisbane and just coming up on the weekends. This was in the 1970’s in a very laid back Mooloolaba. There's been a lot of changes since then, but all the natural beauty of this area; the ocean, the rivers and mountains are all still here to enjoy - plus a lot more great shopping!

I didn’t realise my future husband was just over at the next beach in Maroochydore. He was born and bred on the Sunshine Coast, and has lots of great stories about growing up here. We married in 1995, and together with our beautiful daughter, we like to take full advantage of our knowledge of the coast life.

The travel bug hit hard in the 1980’s and 90’s, with many a fantastic adventure - enough to fill a lifetime of memories and got to see a lot of this amazing world. Even then, I was always captivated by the many fascinating rituals associated with weddings and life’s milestones in other cultures.

My work life has always gravitated toward associating directly with people and public speaking. And so became Sandy the Tour Guide in Europe and Sandy the charity event organiser. From calling bingo to a Silver Service waitress in London - but nothing prepared me for the pure joy and feeling of satisfaction I receive after I have officiated a marriage. This must be the best job in the world!!!
